Berkeley completes the world largest Audi centre

Berkeley is proud to be part of the delivery team responsible for West London Audi, which will be the world's largest Audi dealership when it opens for business. Audi is investing £30 million in the project.

Berkeley were responsible for the design, installation and commissioning of the comprehensive Trend building automation and energy management systems.

The new Audi Centre, designed by Wilkinson Eyre Architects, will become an instant landmark within the region and redefine consumers' expectations of a car showroom. The centre boasts 17,667 square metres of retail, servicing, office, conference, exhibition and museum space across seven floors, with Audi's new car display space cleverly designed to be level with the M4 flyover and visible to millions of commuters every day.

The building has strong environmental credentials and utilises an open loop geothermal system to provide ambient temperature control, with four boreholes sunk to a depth of 160 metres. A comprehensive Trend building management system further enhances the energy efficiency of the Audi Centre, automatically controlling heating, cooling and shading systems to ensure a constant temperature is maintained throughout the building.

The Berkeley Controls Group has built up an enviable reputation for successfully delivering challenging and technically complex projects across the UK and continues to develop solutions and systems to enhance the sustainability of the built environment.
